Job Description

Position: Category Manager

Are you a seasoned Category Manager with a passion for optimising procurement activities? Do you have the capability to translate Global strategies to local markets?  If yes then you may want to join a renowned company known for its commitment to employee well-being, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing the supply chain and ensuring seamless product availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Implement category management strategies, supporting the development and execution of procurement plans.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and engage with local suppliers, negotiate strategic contracts/tenders, and ensure sustainable supply conditions.
  • KPIs & Targets: Achieve procurement goals and KPIs by leading strategic sourcing initiatives, overseeing supplier bidding processes, and managing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with key partners.
  • Business Partnership: Build and nurture collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.  Connecting with the Sales and Marketing teams is pivotal to this role.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and identify trends and opportunities to enhance procurement strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree qualification, preferably in a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in supply chain management within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, logistics, distribution, and warehousing.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • A dynamic and can-do approach is ideal
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work on your own.
