Job Summary

A great opportunity to work within an FMCG award winning Global Company as their Technology Manager.  You will work as a member of the Research & Development Technology team providing leadership and support in the design, development, and optimisation of products with a focus on electronic design, battery and power management.  You will work closely with Technology and Project Managers and other cross functional team members.

Job Description

  • Provide the necessary expertise in electronics to develop technical solutions and deliver acceptable products / prototypes in line with project objectives and business requirements.
  • Participate in design review meetings and risk management activities during the development process.
  • Lead electronic design of reduced risk products ensuring that the overall design, PCB layouts and components meet technical and functional requirements and are appropriately specified.
  • Support the generation / advancement of novel electronics technology working closely with other Technology Managers and internal regulatory teams to ensure regulatory acceptability. Establish electronic technology platforms which can be used across different products
  • Develop internal and external testing and verification procedures for the electronic testing and assessment of prototypes including but not restricted to battery performance (functionality and safety), PCBA testing, and related testing with software / firmware and mechanical design.
  • Manage vendor relationships with external development partners and qualification activities with key suppliers to improve performance and reliability, reduce costs or ease of manufacture.

Required Skills

  • Advanced degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or closely related major engineering discipline, or equivalent ability based on relevant experience and education
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferably working in development role for a consumer electronics industry. Proven electronics engineering experience, including use of application standards for electronics design and implementation in consumer goods.
  • Experience of battery and power management is highly desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills is desirable. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages are considered a plus.
  • PCB Design, electronic schematics, selection of microprocessors and integrated circuits, battery design / selection, component selection, experienced in FMEA.
