Job Summary

Our client based in Aldershot are seeking an Assistant Accountant whose overall task will be to assist the Chief Finance Officer in achieving the companies objectives, to help improve the quality of the finance function and to assist in achieving the financial targets set out in the budgets and Business Plan.

Job Description

  • Ensure the posting and processing of receipts and payments relating to Head Office and managed estates.
  • Ensure cheques and BACS payments are prepared for signature.
  • Implement estate recharges, as required.
  • Ensure payments of Management Fees and Accommodation Charges are raised timely.
  • Prepare direct debits (collection) including loading of budgets onto the computer system.
  • Assist with raising ad hoc charges as required by Estates team & Customer Services.
  • Raise tenant refunds and carry out transaction matching on tenant accounts.
  • Assist the Credit Controller with the recording of incoming cash receipts, includes standing orders & bank transfers.
  • Carry out the daily the bank reconciliations for the Estates in accordance with Finance Policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of the weekly, daily and Monthly balance sheet reconciliations as required by the Finance Manager in accordance with
  • Updating any KPI’s essential to the department’s performance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts information, as required.
  • Assist Estates and Customer Services teams with financial queries as appropriate.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of AAT part-qualified, a willingness to undertake further professional exams is encourage
  • 2 years Finance experience: to include reconciliations,
